Prof. Narelle Eather - Lifelong Fitness and Movement

This week on Wellbeing, we speak with Associate Professor Narelle Eather from the University of Newcastle, Australia. Prof. Eather is an accomplished sportswoman and movement researcher whose latest project is called the MASTER coaching program, focusing on training coaches to be the best they can be to allow kids to have great sporting experiences. Other interests of Dr Eather’s work are finding ways of getting more movement at work for people and encouraging girls in sport.

In this episode, Dr Eather talks about how getting movement is a lifelong endeavor, the importance of physical activity and the development of young children, the quality of education regarding health and movement available to Australian children, related health problems from lack of physical activity, and what nations are doing well globally in movement and physical activity.

The research is showing that even after you finish exercise, those feelings, the effective or emotional responses that you get from doing exercise, are long-lasting.”  - Dr. Narelle Eather on this episode of Wellbeing
