INTERVIEW: A new mutation of the COVID-19 virus is circulating in South Africa.

According to new research published this week, the C.1.2 was first detected in Mpumalanga and Gauteng in May 2021.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases says the C.1.2 could become the dominant variant in the fourth wave.
