“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” (Philippians 2:5 through verse 8).
To be a child of God is to embrace profound equality, not in a power struggle with the Almighty, but in alignment with His divine design. This concept may startle many, prompting them to disengage, but pressing forward reveals a beautiful truth. Our mindset, mirroring Jesus', begins with acknowledging our equality with God, yet as Jesus, existing in God's form, chose humility over asserting His equality. He emptied Himself as a bondservant in human form, retaining His divine position yet accepting the cross for all. This sacrificial act extended to include us, making us children of God through His resurrection.
Attempting to rival God stems from deception. Our essence, Jesus, doesn't require transformation; we participate in His true nature. This process is rooted in trusting another to express Himself through us while allowing our individuality within the grand design to be seen. The journey is not about becoming God but letting God manifest through us, embracing the equality revealed by Christ's selfless example.
