Programme supporting disadvantaged youth into education, sports and arts
A youth mentoring and scholarship programme recently launched in NZ aims to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds pursue their dreams in education, sports or the arts. The programme is called Grow A Star and is run by a charity called Compass Housing Services. First recipient of this mentor and scholarship support is Samoan-Maori student Luisa Tauri-Tei, who’s been supported by the programme in her first year of studying law and arts.
