For better or worse the Catholic Church will get a new pope soon. In the streets of Rome, flags fly at half-mast. Catholics worldwide are mourning Pope Francis and lets be clear, as Christians, people like me are also respectfully mourning his death. Francis is remembered for his humility and deep caring for the poor. His advocates point to his compassion during the refugee crisis, his unimpeachable pro-life positions, and his attempts to confront sexual abuse within the Church’s walls. But as you just heard, Pope Francis appointed bishops who are radically out of step with practicing Catholics. His actions to align with globalism through organizations like the World Economic Forum, supporting concepts like the human trafficking of illegal immigration, the invasion of western countries by illegal aliens intent on destroying those societies, and accepting alternative lifestyles illustrates the degree of contempt he had for the faithful.
