How Low Is Too Low?
I have become completely disillusioned with Maryland politics. One of our current U.S. Senators and the majority of our Representatives in the House are corporate Democrats heavily backed by AIPAC. But it gets worse. In the race for Maryland’s 5th Congressional District, AIPAC and other corporate PACs are pouring massive amounts of money behind Adrian Boafo.

Fortunately, the word is out. People are finally waking up to the threat AIPAC poses to our democratic process, and strong grassroots candidates like Harry Dunn are running viable campaigns against this corporate influence. Yet, our state leadership remains out of touch. Governor Wes Moore has explicitly endorsed Adrian Boafo, as well as Glenn Ivey for his congressional re-election bid—both of whom receive immense backing from AIPAC.

Does this mean our state government now explicitly aligns itself with the ongoing devastation and genocide in Gaza and Lebanon? You have to answer that question for yourself. For me, the conclusion is unavoidable. We all see the reality of what is happening in the Middle East. At this point, accepting their money makes you complicit in the murder of children in Gaza and Lebanon.
