What happens when the things we once thought belonged to science fiction begin to feel like reality?

Artificial intelligence is advancing at a pace that is difficult to comprehend. Conversations about extraterrestrial life continue to challenge our assumptions about humanity and our place in the universe. And everywhere we look, people are asking what the future will look like—and whether we should be excited, concerned, or afraid.

In Part One, we explored the anxiety these cultural questions can create and began looking at them through a biblical worldview.

Now, in Part Two, we're going to take that conversation deeper.

What does the Bible actually give us to think about when it comes to beings beyond humanity, emerging technologies, and a rapidly changing world? Are these developments simply new challenges for humanity, or do they raise deeper questions about what it means to be made in the image of God?

And perhaps most importantly, what happens when our culture's vision of the future begins to compete with the biblical vision of the future?

The Christian faith doesn't require us to fear what we don't understand. Neither does it require us to embrace every new development simply because it promises progress. Instead, Scripture calls us to discern—to test what we hear, to think carefully, and to keep our confidence anchored in God rather than in our ability to control the future.

Because the question isn't simply “What is coming?”

The deeper question is “Who is Lord over what is coming?”

As we continue this three-part series on aliens, AI, and the future of the world, we'll move beyond the headlines and the speculation and begin asking what these issues reveal about our culture, our fears, and ultimately our need for a biblical hope.

Aliens. Artificial intelligence. The future of our world.

Three subjects that capture our imagination—but also generate a surprising amount of anxiety. What if we're not alone in the universe? What happens as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly powerful and capable? And where exactly is all of this taking humanity?

Those questions aren't simply the stuff of science fiction anymore. They're becoming part of our everyday conversations, shaping our fears, our expectations, and the way we think about the future.

And we want to begin by acknowledging that anxiety rather than dismissing it. There are legitimate questions surrounding each of these subjects, and Christians shouldn't be afraid to ask them.

But we also believe there is an alternative to fear, speculation, and uncertainty.

In this three-part series, we're going to explore aliens, artificial intelligence, and the future of our world through a biblical worldview. Not because the Bible gives us simple answers to every technological or cultural question, but because it gives us something far more important: a framework for understanding who God is, who we are, the nature of the world we inhabit, and where history is ultimately headed.

The future may be uncertain to us—but it isn't uncertain to God.

So as we consider some of the biggest and most anxiety-producing questions of our cultural moment, we're going to ask a different question: How should followers of Jesus think and live when the future feels increasingly unfamiliar?

That's where we begin: aliens, AI, and the future of the world.
