Project Freelance

How are we feeling about this new proposed, retroactive drone ban? If you don't know what's going on, you've probably missed a whole lot of information that has been years in the making. As a freelance videographer and drone pilot, I want to shed light on the recent FCC proposal that has put foreign made drones in a tough spot. This ban is not just a minor inconvenience; it could significantly impact the drone community and the technology we rely on.

I made a Substack for Drone Pilot tips! Check it out: https://justtheletterkproductions.substack.com

Matt G of TorontoFPV hit me up about wanting to hop on the podcast and after hearing some of his story I thought that it would be cool to share it with you all! Matt got so fed up with the lack up pilot influence in the FPV build space that he decided to build his own FPV drone, like many others have done. It's cool to see FPV enthusiasts learn the skills needed to create their own, personalized, FPVs to suit their individual needs. Enjoy this episode!

As a drone pilot and business owner, having access to insurance that not only covers me for liability purposes, but also something that covers my actual drone (hull coverage) is essential! I have been using Skywatch for my insurance needs and thought it might be interesting to dive into how the company operates, some of the more interesting use cases they've seen, and how they're helping drone companies of all sizes and individuals.

Since I've talked about this incident a few times and have been flying drones for almost a decade I thought it might be helpful to update everyone on the LA Drone Pilot incident that involved a DJI Mini Pro 3 and one of the water planes.
