Jesus Christ’s death was planned by God before the creation of the world. Jesus told the disciples on multiple occasions that He would die… He must die. But when He was executed the disciples reckoned it was a terrible disaster. The Messiah who had come to save Israel and establish the kingdom… was dead. His mission aborted…the dream was over… “time to go back to our fishing boats”.  But Jesus also told them that He would be raised up and then meet them later at a specified location [in Galilee]. He was raised back to life. He did rendezvous with them in Galilee. And He spent 40 days with them presumably teaching them [among other things] the significance of His death in the greater plan God was rolling out.
