Many people think that if they were the leader, everything would be so much easier for them and their workload would disappear. However, this is not the case, the responsibilities only escalate along the way up. But if you are passionate about what you do, those new challenges won’t be a problem for you as Anne McCabe has found throughout her successes as an entrepreneur. Anne shares what she’s learned along her journey such as accepting a 24/7 working mentality, evaluating risks based on the worst case scenario, and what it really means to sell your company.

  • When you become a leader, your responsibilities don’t get any easier and you have to accept the fact that even if you’re not ‘working’ you’ll never be able to turn that completely off.

  •  Selling your company is a very emotional process, but you need to ask yourself what your life’s purpose is and if keeping your company is still in line with that purpose.
  • Set aside time in your day to sit quietly and listen to what your body and your intuition is telling you. This could take the form of meditation or even just sitting without checking your phone. 
  • For married couples, both spouses should attend at least one meeting every year with their financial planner, so that everyone has an up to date understanding of the opportunities and challenges of the couples’ situation.
