ProtΓ©a is a spy thriller from France in 1913 directed by Victorin-Hippolyte Jasset, starring Josette Andriot in her most famous role. It is, possibly, the first film to put a woman in the role of action hero. It shares much common DNA with Filibus and with the various Air Adventure films of the 1910s (although no one flies in this particular film!) It is incomplete. Two sections in the middle have been replaced with title cards. It's still enjoyable.

This version is scored with music by The Happy Six from 1919. It's a little newer than the film, but I thought it worked well enough.

There were several other ProtΓ©a films, but they all appear to be lost.
