Recently, two very different statements made the rounds online. One claimed that if a woman is in her 30s without a husband or children, something must be wrong with her. Another argued that a single mother is “damaged goods.” Hearing both of those opinions within the same week raises an obvious question. If women are criticized no matter which path they take, whose standards are we actually trying to live by?
