Protecting Dover's Water, an Essential Community Resource

Listen Later

In this episode of Dover Download, Deputy City Manager Christopher Parker chats with Community Services Director John Storer and Environmental Projects Manager Gretchen Young about the city's water resources. They discuss work to protect the city's aquifers, the construction of a new treatment plant to remove per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) from the Pudding Hill aquifer, and how droughts can affect those resources.

Also this week, in place of This Week in Dover History, we dig deep into Dover's past with historian and photographer Thom Hindle. Hindle's new book, "Dover, New Hampshire Through Time: Volume Two," releases this week, and offers a then-and-now look at Dover, including never-before-seen photographs from Hindle's vast collection. The release of the new book also coincides with an exhibit of Hindle's work in September at The Art Center in Dover. For more information about the exhibit, visit https://www.theartcenterdover.com/.
