His brother had been the only family he had left in the world. Hayes, a long, tall and serious Texan, has long been suspicious of the blond-haired, bright-eyed Minette Raynor, who is both mysterious and beautiful. And now hes convinced that Minette was involved in giving his brother the drugs that killed him. As far as Hayes is concerned, neither her looks nor anything else will stand in the way of him righting what is so very wrong.
Minette cant get Hayes off her mind, or off her back. His investigation of her is a nuisance, but as an undercover DEA agent, thats the least of her worries. Until she finds herself in great danger, and hes the only one who can save her. Can she count on Hayes believing the truth - and saving her life?

A fair read!!!!
This was not Diana's best read. I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had been able to
Preview it. But as a whole I usually enjoyed her books. I only bought this one based on the series coming from this series of the town and the people I had read.
Protector
Very interesting a bit long but good ending characters well developed and the idea that second chances and forgiveness are possible.
Great book

Would someone please for the love of heaven tell Diana Palmer that NO ONE (except, apparently, her) uses the term "cartoon movies" to refer to animation?! For heck's sake, not all animation is cartoons! You cannot accurately call 'Finding Nemo', 'Tangled', 'Toy Story' or 'Shrek', "cartoons"! Get with the times woman!
Aside from that pet peeve, the other really jarring thing about the book was the author's constant descriptions of Minette Raynor as "flushing". The woman flushes at the drop of a hat.
Wonderful
Reallly like this series
