I had asked Pastor Gordon if he would teach the last two months, because I was rather overwhelmed with things to do. But here we are again. Ready to continue our trudge through Proverbs. Proverbs 17:1–28 (NKJV) Highlight #1 – Modern Mockery Proverbs 17:5 (NKJV) 5 He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker; . . . Do you know the feeling one gets when they read something in the Bible and it makes them “pause”? I don’t really don’t like that feeing, but I am grateful I can recognize it. It seems that the longer we are “in the church” we get subtle “pharisaical” tendencies! I remember a message I delivered entitled “You might be a Pharisee If . . .” (One can easily fill-in the blank with their judgements . . . ) So when I read this verse I felt that tension.
