* We need wisdom more now than ever.

* Tony Evans says, “Wisdom is the God-given ability to perceive the true nature of a thing and then implement the will of God concerning it.”

* Wisdom is the marriage of knowledge with understanding.

* EX: Wisdom is like a bowtie.

* Knowledge is one loop.

* Understanding is the other loop.

* The knot is Experience.

* (Empire State Building)

* How do we get wisdom?

* This is where Proverbs comes in.

* The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (like the fear of heights).

* In Proverbs 7 Solomon talks about the Woman of Folly calling out to those who pass by.

* In Proverbs 8 Solomon says Lady Wisdom does the same thing!

* Notice where she is:

* Vs 1-2 - she calls out to those who are “on the path” - they are “moving forward!

* Vs 3 - she calls out to those “at the gate” - this is where people congregated.

* How do you grow in wisdom?

* 1) Move Forward

* 2) Be Around Others

* 3) Listen for Her Voice

* You can’t be stagnant or alone if you want to grow in wisdom.

* Why? Because being around people is where conflict takes place.

* Conflict with others is like working out - it makes you stronger.

* This is where Emotional Intelligence comes in.

* Self Management

* Social Awareness
