The Alberta government has announced plans to remove 164 of 473 sites from the Alberta parks system. The Alberta Wilderness Association has concerns with this, and believes it will threaten the "protected area status" of many of these parks. The association also disagrees with the UCP's assessment that many of these areas are under-utilized.
