In light of British Columbia announcing targets for poverty reduction, we look back on two interviews that explore issues of poverty, affordable housing and basic income in BC and Ontario.
First, we hear from Trish Garner, community organizer for the B.C. Poverty Reduction Coalition. She explores the need to create long term construction of affordable rental properties. Lastly, we hear from Tom Cooper, director of the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction. He explains why Hamilton has become the first city in Ontario to use zoning bylaws to limit the payday loan industry.
