In this psalm by David, Israel’s great shepherd-king writes of the greatness of Jehovah, his true Son and Lord. He extolls Yehovah for His many benefits, for His grace, and for His righteous justice. He will not be angry forever, for His mercy is as great as the heavens are high above the earth. Man’s days are like grass, but Yahweh’s mercy is to the olam and beyond. The LORD establishes His throne in heaven, and His government rules over all. So David calls on all to bless, meaning to speak well of and praise, Jehovah!
