Psalm 104:31-35

When Jesus Christ is your Savior and God is your Father, when the Holy Spirit is within you and the Word of God is teaching you, all of creation takes on new beauty and new blessing. The sky above is a deeper blue and the earth beneath is a richer green and all of creation takes on a whole new meaning. We don’t just see creation; we see the Creator. We don’t just simply see a Creator; we see a Father, a heavenly Father who cares for us. We rejoice in the works of the Lord. Psalm 104 verse 33, “I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of Him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.”

He spoke these words after considering all of God’s creation. He looked at the waters, the springs up in the mountains, the rivers coming down. He heard the birds singing in the branches. He saw the cattle eating the grass out on the field. He saw man baking bread and he saw man making oil and he watched the sun come up and go down and he watched God’s creation and he said “I’m going to rejoice in this God who is my God.” Yes I know all of creation is travailing in pain because of sin, Romans 8:22. I know that. But our Creator is still in charge and His creation in spite of sin still has great beauty and great wealth. We rejoice in creation. Did you know that God rejoices in His creation? Psalm 104 verse 31, “The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: The LORD shall rejoice in His works.” God rejoices in His creation. He rejoices to hear the birds sing. He rejoices to see the rivers as they flow and when you and I rejoice in the Lord, we also rejoice in the creation. No we don’t worship creation; that’s idolatry! But we love the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

Let’s rejoice in His works. He rejoices in His works. Let’s rejoice that God is glorified as we obey Him today.
