In this sermon, we dive into Psalm 109, one of the oddest Psalms in the entire book. For a large portion of the Psalm, the writer expresses anger toward his enemies and calls curses down on one of them. What do you do with such a Psalm? We discuss why this Psalm is so important for our lives and why we get angry. Rather than acting out our anger in violence to get revenge or suppressing it because we think we shouldn't feel such things, we discuss a third way that honors our anger and then leads to healing.
