In this sermon on Mother's Day, we look at Psalm 127. This Psalm dives into the core of why we do what we do. How do we build? Why do we protect? Where does our provision come from? Ultimately, the Psalm invites us to find joy in the gifts that God give us rather than trying to strive to build our own empires based on our own skills and abilities. As a wisdom Psalm, it reveals that trying to live based on our own ability to control the results of our labor will always lead to pain and disappointment. If we can trust the good gifts of God, however, we can live a life of freedom, joy, and justice.
