Psalm 22 begins with the ultimate question "why?" It comes from the time of Jesus’s ultimate suffering: My God, My God, WHY have you forsaken me? Why have you abandoned me? This psalm prophesies of the crucifixion of Jesus – the Christ. The Messiah. The crucifixion of the Son of God: The King. We can learn much about how to endure our own times of suffering by seeing how Jesus suffered, and trusted God while suffering.
This lecture follows the workbook lessons on Psalms 22 and 23. This weekly women’s Bible study includes my lectures which coordinate with the study guide “Come, Let Us Worship” which can be found on Amazon. Click here for more information on this study.
The Psalms prompt us to turn to the Lord and see that He is with us every moment of our lives, sovereign, faithful, loving, wise, and worthy of all our devotion. They remind us that the Lord God is our great and glorious King who one day will reign on the earth. While we wait for Him, and when we see Him… come, let us worship the King.
