We all desire lasting comfort but struggle to experience. The problem is that many of us are following insufficient sheep when we have a sufficient shepherd. As we are reminded in Psalm 23, lasting comfort can’t come when riding on the heels of anyone or anything other than Jesus. True comfort only comes when the sheep blindly follow the true Shepherd.
