In Part 3 of our Psalm 23 series, Shepherd’s Heart Worship Team member Colton Matney walks us through verses 4–5 and reminds us that we serve a Shepherd who is not distant — He is with us.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” — Psalm 23:4–5 (ESV)

This message highlights three beautiful assurances found in the Shepherd’s care:

1️⃣ His Presence — “You are with me” (Fear fades with fellowship)
2️⃣ His Protection — The rod defends, the staff guides and corrects
3️⃣ His Provision — The table, oil, and cup remind us of His grace, healing, and abundance

Whether you’re walking through calm waters or deep valleys, you can rest knowing your Shepherd is near, strong, and overflowing with mercy.
