Psalm 32: Psalms for Shepherds

Listen Later

Psalm 32 could be called a psalm of forgiveness. In this psalm David writes as if he hoped to instruct others about forgiveness and what he learned.

8 The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.
9 Do not be like a senseless horse or mule
that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.”
10 Many sorrows come to the wicked,
but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the Lord.
11 So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him!
Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!
Psalm 32:8-11

If you are in that place where there is a burden of guilt, if you have been running from the Father, I pray that you will confess it and feel the relief of confession as David does in this psalm. Experience the blessing of forgiveness.

If the sheep in your life are struggling in their own burden of guilt pray for them. Draw near to them and love them.

Dear shepherd leader, this week may you feel the beautiful relief of confession and the blessing of forgiveness.
