Psalms for Shepherds

Psalm 48: Psalms for Shepherds

Listen Later

Psalm 48 is a psalm by the descendants of Korah focusing on the deliverance of the City of Jerusalem from the danger it had been in. The knew the city's protection came from the Lord Jehovah and not the stone and mortar.

1 How great is the Lord,
how deserving of praise,
in the city of our God,
which sits on his holy mountain!
2 It is high and magnificent;
the whole earth rejoices to see it!
Mount Zion, the holy mountain,
is the city of the great King!
3 God himself is in Jerusalem’s towers,
revealing himself as its defender.

13 Take note of the fortified walls,
and tour all the citadels,
that you may describe them
to future generations.
14 For that is what God is like.
He is our God forever and ever,
and he will guide us until we die.
Psalm 48:1-3, 13-14 (NLT)

Dear under shepherd, let us place ourselves under our Father's guidance because that is how we never miss our way. As you live into your calling this week think about, and be grateful for, what our dear Savior and God the Father has done for us; guiding us, loving us, protecting us, providing for us, and being present with us every single step of the way.
