In this sermon, we talk all about water. In the ancient world, water was everything, especially for people living in a land like Israel. The original audience of the Psalms knew what it meant to thirst for water. Throughout Biblical history, this thirst for water came to have multiple levels of meaning, ultimately asking the question of what will truly satisfy the deepest thirsts of our lives and communities. In Psalm 63, David plays off these deeper meanings. We then see Jesus doing the same thing in the New Testament when he calls Himself living water. We dive into these important ideas lurking right beneath the surfa to discover how we might find satisfaction for the deepest and most important thirsts in our lives. Water is just the beginning.
