Today we're in the first part of Psalm 89. This is a 52-verse psalm with a clear theme of the faithfulness of our Lord. We're beginning today with verses 1-4:
1
I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever;
with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
2
For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever;
in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.”
3
You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one;
I have sworn to David my servant:
4
‘I will establish your offspring forever,
and build your throne for all generations.’”
Selah
Take a moment, even now, shepherd leader, and praise Him. No matter your circumstances, no matter your doubt, no matter how you feel, stop and praise Him. Take refuge in Him and watch Him work.
Just as you’ll see in the remainder of this Psalm 89, focusing on God’s covenant — His promises and His character — leads to more praising, more exulting, and far less worry, moaning, and complaint.
Our God IS faithful.
May you live deeply into your calling.
