Psalm, Chapter 98
A Call to Praise the Lord for His Righteousness.
A Psalm.
98 O sing to the Lord a new song,
For He has done wonderful things,
His right hand and His holy arm have [a]gained the victory for Him.

o A Call to Praise the Lord for His Righteousness
o A Call is an announcement; blow the trumpet; hear ye, hear ye
- What is the announcement?
o Praise the Lord for His Righteousness
o Praise the Lord is the action
o For His Righteousness is the reason
o We should praise the Lord today because of His righteousness
§ He is making everything right!
§ He is right!
- O sing to the Lord a new song
o This announcement is important and worthy of a new song
o That would require thought, written music (composition)
o It would have to be new (not sang before)
- For He has done wonderful things
o This is why we should write a new song
o For He has done (past tense) wonderful things
o He made a way were there was no way
o He died on a cross to pay for our sin
o He rose again in victory over sin and death
o He set the captives free
o He parted the red sea
o He protected His people for 40 years in the desert
- His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him
o His right hand is the strong hand
o Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father (He is His strength)
- His holy arm have gained victory for Him
o His arm represents His power
2 The Lord has made known His salvation;
He has revealed His [b]righteousness in the sight of the nations.
- The Lord has made known His salvation
o He made it known through His word
o He made it known when Jesus was born fulfilled all the prophesies
o He proved His word is true when Jesus rose from the dead
o He proved who He was by performing miracle after miracle
- He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations
o God perfect lamb sacrificed to save mankind
o God showed sinful man how to be born again and saved from his/her sins
o God righteousness is imputed to all who believe in Jesus Christ
