So what's the verdict? In Judges 6, Gideon was raised up by the Lord to fight against the Midianites, but first, he was called to smash his father's idol in the public square and to replace it with the altar of the Lord. The people repented, and God sent a prophet with hard words. So, do we need top down or bottom up change? The answer seems to be, "yes."
