Depression and anxiety use absolutes like “always, never…” What we love about the psalms is that there are particular chapters that can speak to us during these times in a profound way. We do not need a platitude of “Things will be better in the morning….”

Psalm 29 reminds us that the universe is big and creation is complex. But God is bigger and wiser than we could ever imagine. In Psalm 29 we see that the image of God is one of both strength and presence. God is in the BIG things and God is in the SMALL things. He is over many waters but he is also with the deer when she gives birth. What an amazingly powerful and person God we see here.
