It’s hard enough to parent a child with anxiety or OCD, but when your own mental health issues are added to the mix, it can be all encompassing.

But it’s not all bad.

Having your own anxiety or OCD issues can help you be a better parent to a child with anxiety or OCD.

You can often empathize with your child more than others can. You know how it feels to have struggles and can relate to them in a way others may not. You might catch things earlier and get them help faster. All of this can be invaluable for your child.

In this week’s AT Parenting Survival Podcast I invited Stacy Quick, an OCD therapist with NOCD to talk about how she parents three kids with anxiety and OCD, while having OCD herself.
