Dr. Sandeep Nayak joins the podcast this week to sit down with the boys and discuss:

  • The neuroscience of psychedelic drugs and the real potential they have as medicine
  • How psychedelics affect behavior, mood, cognition, brain function, and biological markers of health
  • Therapeutic effects of psychedelic therapy in people who suffer a range of conditions including addiction, life-threatening disease, and treatment-resistant depression

    • Dr. Nayak is a psychiatrist and postdoctoral fellow at the Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research. He completed his MD at Brown University, his residency at Johns Hopkins, and Dr. Nayak also works part-time clinically in addiction psychiatry at John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

    His primary focus is on investigating psychedelics as treatments for psychiatric conditions, particularly addictions and mood disorders. He is also interested in the effect of psychedelics on belief formation and expanding diversity in psychedelic research.
