America and others parts of the world have been sold on the idea that they have diseases that can only be treated with drugs manufactured by the pharmaceutical industry.  Nowhere is this truer than in psychiatry, where not a single mental disorder (“bipolar,” “schizophrenia,” etc.) has ever been scientifically proven to exist in the same way as a medical lab would provide evidence of cancer.  Through aggressive pharmaceutical industry-financed marketing and advertising, much of society—including doctors—has come believe that mental disorders are caused by “chemical imbalances” or other entirely false biological sources.  Kay Carlson, former pharmaceutical sales representative turned whistleblower and author of Diary of a Legal Drug Dealer, shares her insights about the psychiatric and the pharmaceutical industry which she characterizes as “conjoined twins, joined as the wallet” and the effect they have on what we have come to believe about our own health in today's 35-minute show.
