Today's lecture addresses whether psychology is a social science. We will explore its classification and scientific foundations to appreciate the methodologies and broad applicability of psychological research. Psychology is debated within the realms of social and behavioral sciences. It shares strong ties with social sciences, which study human society and relationships, including sociology, anthropology, economics, and political science. Like these disciplines, psychology examines behavior within social contexts, such as how individuals interact with groups and how social settings influence behavior.
