Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." - Oscar Wilde
If you are playing the role of a PS The audience will see you’re a phoney and no matter how good your content is you will have already lost them.
When an actor takes to the stage they become another person - that is part of the actors craft - but in public speaking you must always be you - to communicate you must project honesty, authenticity and credibility - don’t mask it by acting your role.
Mind you taking an acting course can enhance your PS skills - controlling body language, facial expressions, voice control and projection. All elements to help you better communicate with your audience.
Remember good public speaking is a cocktail made up of great content - and brilliant delivery
It’s the combination of your words and the way you deliver them that will set you apart as a compelling public speaker.
