There has been a considerable amount of violence on public transit systems in North America. We need out public transit, it is a core element of a successful and vibrant city. Over 85% of Canadians live in urban and suburban areas, transit contributes to our productivity and is absolutely essential to our success.  We chat about maintaining situational awareness, understanding the environment around you, mitigating risk as much as possible and in the rare times, know how to physically protect yourself. Let us work hard to improve public transit, make it safer, but in the meantime, make sure you adopt preparedness to protect you.
