This is the first episode in my detailed exploration of the essays of Ralph Waldo Emerson. I explain why I've chosen this project for the first half of the episode and then I dig into the publisher's foreword. There are a bunch of versions of Emerson's essays out there, but I'm using the 1941 edition from A.S. Barnes & Company.
