Today I give you a two-fer in a game and a fun little poetry app using William Shatner’s voice.

The game is called Punch Quest. Your job is to punch the enemies. You have two moves – your left fist and your right. From that you must navigate through the level taking out skeletons, ghosts, eyeclops and other monsters.

This is set in the old 8-bit game realm which is really making a stand on the iPad. After all – last week we talked about Fix-it Felix, the game to the movie Wreck it Ralph. Punch Quest makes me wonder if games like these will be making a comeback. Further, what games we’ll see in the 80bit realm.

Shatoetry for iPhone

I try not to highlight apps that don’t have an iPad version, but this one was way too fun not to highlight. Shatoetry is a poetry app using the voice of William Shatner. You place the words on the screen like you would refrigerator magnets. When done, hit the “Shat-that” button and William Shatner will read it for you. Tapping the word will make it bigger and Shatner will then emphasize the word.

You can share your Shatoetry with others. What fun golden throat musings can you make?

Shatoetry is $2.99 in the app store. http://shatoetry.com/
