Ashley Guarrasi is a boxing fitness coach from Dana Point, California. With over 105K on Instagram, it's her mission to inspire and empower others by sharing her passion for health and fitness. Ashley is an instructor at BOXHAUS in Newport Beach and has previously worked with Rumble Boxing in New York and Equinox in West Hollywood training high level clientele.
In this conversation with Dre, she shared some of the struggles and adversities she's faced along the way: both professionally and personally. From struggling to find an agent for being too short to then booking a worldwide Apple commercial. She has worked with brands such as Nike, Apple and Beats By Dre. Discovered with videos from her Instagram, she impressed casting directors with her skills and unique look. Despite the success that Ashley has enjoyed in her career, she acknowledges that it was not an easy road.
She faced rejection early on and had to work hard to prove herself to casting directors and agents. This strength and determination she showed would carry her through to her next and ultimately roughest chapter of her life. Pregnant with her first child and mere days after her gender reveal photoshoot, Ashley learned at her 20-week appointment that the baby no longer had a heartbeat.
Ashley's story is one that will hit home with many women out there. She bravely shares the tough experience she went through during her miscarriage. It was a whirlwind of emotions for her, filled with pain, confusion, and feelings of being all alone. She shared that going through this tough time in her life has been the most difficult thing she has ever done. She emphasized the importance of having a support group and opening up to people who have gone through similar experiences to make yourself feel less alone.
Ashley has started a non-profit organization called Gloves for Grief with their motto being: Punching pain into purpose. Along with her business partner Tara, Gloves for Grief provides healing workouts, community events and a grief community for people who have lost someone.
