When Green Day set out to record their new album in 2003 they didn't expect the master tapes to be stolen and an entire record lost to time but it was perhaps the greatest thing to happen. It would cause the band to do a hard restart rather than re-record the record and considering it was the turn of a new millennium with a change both in the music world and political scene it would serve as the basis for their album, a concept record, and vastly different from what fans were expecting; but was it any good in retrospect?
