The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, was in Swanage back in June 2021 visiting volunteer coastwatchers from the National Coastwatch Institution. Her Royal Highness, who is their patron, was flown in by helicopter to call in at watchtowers at St Albans Head, and Peveril Point. It was then off to Durlston Castle for an official reception, and to present long service awards. In a speech to an assembled audience of over fifty volunteers, she paid tribute to their work and dedication. Our Coastal Ways reporter, Ian Harkness was there.
