Imagine what it would be like to live untainted by all the junk that weighs us down — no self-centeredness, no pettiness, no deceitfulness, no hiding, no foolish vanity, no self-importance, no thoughtless cruelty. Imagine what it would be like to be washed of all that.

Paul writes to this young church at Corinth because he longs for them to know the purity that God has intended for human beings. But like all human beings, they face significant challenges. They have barriers. It will cost them something. It will sting them to be pure.

But the sting is worth it! The pain is worth it!
