What is purity culture?

Purity culture is a christian term. An umbrella term for all beliefs surrounding abstinence, modesty, chastity both physical and emotional. The intention behind it can be useful and honestly it can be used for God’s glory BUT in the world we live in, it has brought out some really ugly misconceptions surrounding sex and our natural desire for it.
