Lauren wanders around the circus, coming across its members releasing lanterns in the sky in a moving memorial to their lost ones from Graychapel. Hypnotized Lauren finds herself feeling sad and not knowing why.   

Kieran, whose search is becoming more panicked, sees lights with the names of gods on them, and follows Hecate's advice.   

Fireworks go off, and Lauren's unconscious recalls the factory and APD explosions. The world around her becomes a world of horror, with a mysterious injunction for her to look at someone (we theorize), and childlike Lauren, unable to understand or process her feelings, is overwhelmed by them.   

She rushes into a barn, where Kieran finds her curled in a ball, sobbing. Our darling boy rushes to comfort her, and she finds some peace against his chest, crying. Our hearts.   

Morpheus and Artemis interrupt the moment to de-hypnotize her, and Lauren doesn't remember a thing. We wonder whether Kieran will bring this up with her later.  

We end the chapter with Will stopping a hooded Rafael in the streets, a Rafael who goes for his gun. (!)
