The next day, Lauren is getting dressed, using makeup to hide the marks left by Kieran. She descends the stairs to find an elaborate breakfast with Tristan eating.   

They engage in some banter, but then Tristan reveals his worry about Lauren.  

He asks if he can interfere in her restoration, but Lauren refuses, acknowledging her error and wanting no special treatment. She then leaves, after having eaten her sole blueberry of the season. Tristan gazes after her with a worried expression. Concerned uncle? Fishing spy? You decide!  

Lauren walks to work, ruminating about her and Kieran's discoveries and planning her next steps, without Kieran.  

Meanwhile, we see boxes being unloaded off a truck into a warehouse, and a scarred man talking to a woman smoking a cigar. They talk about their impending meeting at the Carmine Camellia on Friday, and how the Apostle is angry at the killings.  

While walking, Lauren overhears a lie about someone travelling overseas, catching her attention and causing her to glance at the liar. Turns out it is none other than the mysterious scarred man.   

Lauren pursues him until she finally reaches him, smashing his head into a wall. We have some flashbacks, and Lauren reveals the man's name: Tim Sake. He immediately gets on her good side by taunting her.
