Put God First
John 2:24-25
King James Version
24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
Trust in God: Our Lord never relied on any person but trusted completely in God. He was never suspicious or bitter and never lost hope for anyone. He placed his trust in God's grace, believing in its transformative power for others. If I prioritize trusting in human beings, I will end up feeling despair and hopelessness towards everyone. I will become bitter because I expect people to be flawlessly perfect. Instead, we should trust in God's grace and not in ourselves or others.
God's Will first: "I come to do thy will, O God" (Hebrews 10:9). Trust in nothing within yourself or others except the grace of God. Our obedience should be aligned with God's will, just as Jesus obediently followed His Father's will. While there is an urgent call to share the Gospel with the world, we must ensure that God's will for us personally is being fulfilled. We need to be empowered by the Holy Spirit and develop a right relationship with God's needs and His will. Once our own needs are met, God will open doors for us to fulfill His will and meet His needs elsewhere.
God's Son first: " And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. " (Matthew 18:5). God came to us as a vulnerable baby, entrusting Himself to us. He desires to transform our lives, making them a reflection of His Son's life within us. God's ultimate purpose is for His Son to be manifested in us, and we should allow our natural lives to be gradually transformed by the indwelling life of Jesus.
