Beyond Consciousness

Put it on Paper

Listen Later

Good Afternoon friends in this episode I will be discussing the topic of writing letters to yourself or others in order to get the negativity out of your head and onto paper, there are so many benefits of letter writing I hope you give this one a try and let me know how it goes for you.

Morning. Hello, friends. Happy Saturday. Welcome back to another episode of Beyond Consciousness. You guys, some misfortune events have fallen upon me, but it's okay. I let it get the best of me for a moment. I kind of shook it off. I had my moment. I cried a little bit, but I'm good. And, you know, got back on track. This is just another opportunity to lean into my faith and manifest what I want. We can't let a few bumps in the road distract us or deter us from our goals. So just stay focused, guys. Just remember that when one door closes, another one opens. And just because something unfortunate happens in your life, it doesn't mean that what you want is not coming. In fact, it could actually be a sign that the universe, God, your higher power, whatever you believe in, has actually heard what you said, and this is the pathway to get there. So just be thankful for it. Just remember, not everything is a bad sign. Some things are actually good. But this is all about healing, growth, and creating our best life with our God given abilities of the subconscious mind. So we are going to speak about what we seek until it shows up and give thanks for it in faith it's already been done for us. All right, now that I've said that today, we are talking about writing letters to help facilitate healing. Now, this method, I think, is a mix of both a practical and spiritual way of releasing negative energy and starting the healing process. It really just depends on what your beliefs are. And for me, I think it's a mix of both. You can look it up very easily. A lot of mental health practitioners and stuff will sometimes ask you to write letters because it helps you again, you get it on paper, helps you release it and get it out of your head. I know a lot of spiritualists will practice this as more of like an energy release kind of thing. I think it's a mix of both. I think it's a great practice. I think it's a great idea. Again, it really just depends on what your beliefs are. I know that the first time I tried it, I didn't think it was going to work because as you guys know, I was never about spirituality, and I had, like, little to no faith, but it was one of the best things that I could have easily done. I can tell you that. It's something I used to practice all the time. Not going to lie and say I do it all the time now when I'm doing my forgiveness and healing work, but it is something that I still have in my arsenal and that I would recommend to you all. Now, when you write these letters, it's not for the purpose of you giving them to the person that has hurt you, so they can read about what they've done to you. And you can make them feel bad and you can get like an apology. That is absolutely not the purpose because you are not going to give them these letters at all. As a matter of fact, you're not even going to mention them to these people. Don't tell them at all that you wrote these letters. Don't tell anybody, actually. Just write the letters. This is a way for you to get what's going on in your heart, your mind and your spirit onto paper. It's a way to release the negative thoughts, the emotions and energy. It's just cleansing yourself of what no longer serves you and gives you a way to talk about what's been affecting you. You're talking to yourself when you're writing these letters. I get it, I know, trust me. But you have no idea how powerful writing things on paper, getting it out of your head and onto something tangible, how magical it really is. So just try it. So what I recommend is making a list of the things you want to heal from. And you know, of course, who it is that you are. And I'm going to do air quotes here who it is you are writing to. And before I go on, you don't have to just write to other people. You can write to yourself as well because of course, you are not exempt of wrongdoings. Whether you've intentionally or unintentionally caused pain to yourself or others, I'm sure there is something in your closet that you need to release and that's okay. So go ahead and write yourself down as well. But of course, if you're not at that stage where you're able to hold yourself accountable or if you can't honestly figure out what it is that you want to forgive yourself for, that's fine. You can absolutely do that. Last. I did it last. Just make sure that you get around to it. Okay. But moving on, after you make a list, then you can begin writing your letters. When I wrote my letters again, I made the list of people I was writing to, including myself. And then under or beside the names, I'd write what it is that they did or what trauma they've caused. And then what I recommend and what I did after is just take some time to think about how it's impacted your life, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, however, and how it has made you feel up into this present time. Write that down next to everything else as well, because that's what you're going to write about in this letter. I also do not recommend that you rush this process or cram everything into one letter. Because when you're doing any type of healing or manifestation work, you really need to take your time with the process. So if there are multiple things you need to forgive someone for, then ideally you should be writing multiple letters to this person or yourself and about what they've done. If it's like one or two things and you feel like you can really put it into one letter, then obviously that's fine. I'm sure that there's some instances where you can go ahead and do that because it really just all depends on how detailed you are when you're writing these letters. So for me, I was very detailed of what was done to me and the trauma it inflicted or the pain and emotions I've been feeling, the thoughts I've been having. So I could have easily written a novel for each and everything. I love writing. I'm a writer, I love speaking. There's a lot of things about me that I like that I could have just kept on going and going. So for me personally, I think it's better to break it up. Take your time. That way you can focus on one issue at a time and you can really dig down deep and uproot what it is that you need to uproot. Okay? After you're done writing these letters, you can do one of two things. And the only reason I'm saying one of two things is because, again, it depends on your belief system. And this is what I've researched, what I've practiced, what I've meditated on, what I've experienced. But you can either one, tear them up, shred them up, and while doing so, visualize all your trauma, the hurt, the pain, negative energy, et cetera, disappearing. Some people believe that's not good enough to get rid of everything. Some do. I think it's completely up to you. But I do prefer the second method, which is burning it to ashes. Now please, guys, if you're going to do the second method, make sure you are not going to light yourself or anything else on fire. Just be smart about it, okay? Or at least have something next to you to extinguish the fire if need be. I don't know why I needed to say that, but something told me, spirit told me somebody needed to hear that disclaimer. And again, as it burns and turns to ash, say, affirmations of letting go or visualize it leaving your body and disappearing. Again, I personally prefer the second method. It's just something so satisfying about watching the fire. First off, I just love fire and wood burning and stuff like that. I love the smell. And I just think that it's really satisfying to watch all your problems kind of turn into ash. It really helps with the visualization aspect of it. So that's my method. And the last thing that I need to mention before you go and write these letters, and this is kind of like a spiritual belief and tip and something that I always go by, but you want to fold this letter up when you're done writing it, and you want to fold it away from you. So the belief is if you are folding something towards you, or if you're someone who likes to use anointed oils and stuff like I do. If you're rubbing it on yourself, you want to fold things towards you and put on oils and lotions and stuff towards you. When you're saving your affirmations of things that you want to bring into your life. If you want to get rid of something, then you're going to say your affirmations and put on the anointed oils and rubbing it outwards and like towards your fingertips and downwards. If you're writing something, obviously you're going to fold it outwards. So away from your body, away from your fingertips, away from your face, just out, because you want to get rid of it. You want the universe to take it and expel it. So that is a very helpful tip and something that I always abide by. Again, it's completely up to you of your belief, but that's just something that I believe in. And if you're very spiritual like me, that's a tip for you, if in case you didn't know that. So you guys, that is your homework. Try the method of letter writing and let me know how it makes you feel. Let me know how it goes for you. I love letter writing again, I used to do it all the time. It was one of the first things, again, like I said, that I started to do when I started my healing journey, even before I knew about manifestation. And then I continued it on when I first started doing manifesting practices. But aside from all of that, you guys, it really is just a great way to have someone to talk to. And again, I know you're not really talking to anybody at all, you're talking to yourself, you're writing it down and everything. But if you don't have anyone to talk to, or if you're not ready for that step to speak to a professional or spiritualist or a friend or anything at all, or if you can't talk about it, this is a great way for you to get it onto paper so you can see what's going on in your mind and to get yourself ready for the process of speaking to someone about it. If that's the way you choose to go about it. So just try it and let me know how it goes. So that is the conclusion of this episode. Just something really quick and brief. We'll talk more about getting things onto paper and the different methods of writing on paper for different things later on.
