Good to hear you guys again! I had a slight hiatus over December when my iTunes didn’t want to refresh Q&A, so had to re-subscribe. Which is why it’s good that you plug new episodes in other social media, otherwise I’d still be waiting. Silly iTunes. On your crowdfunding show, another avenue that I’ve come across recently is Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/). This is where patrons/subscribers pledge a certain amount each month or for each piece of work produced. For example, I’m going to support Every Frame a Painting, this great series of video essays which analyse aspects of cinema (https://www.patreon.com/everyframeapainting). You can see his work on Youtube and Vimeo for free, but this is a way of supporting his work, and get some little extra out of it too. Sometimes the artists still offer their work elsewhere for free and Patreon is like an organised tip jar, and sometimes there is content only accesible to subscribers. It’s an interesting model, and I like it as a way to support someone whose work I enjoy in an ongoing way. It’s like the appeal you see on the brainpickings.org webpage for ongoing support, but collected into one page so the artist does not have to take care of the donation infrastructure. Haven’t noticed too many photographers on there as yet. G’day, you have women power on the program, three strong women as I heard in the announcement of the next weeks, did you know here is another strong woman writing you? My name is Sue, owner and operator of Adelaides Sue Smith Photography (ASSP). I started photography age 19, turned three month ago 63 and guess what I just opened in Port Adelaide my little Art Gallery with upcoming exhibitions and to get a bit money in in this early stages I sell also handmade craft. I’m trying something new for an Art Gallery, I decided to use one wall with photos printed not on photo paper and the central point is a big print of a Koala. This special exhibition on the expensive print media shows only images photographed by me but on the other wall can anyone show and sell his art no matter the gender, the age, the race, no matter if old or young, big or slim, tall or short, photographer, painter or pre-school/school kid, but every of our local artists who is talented and willing to learn, to improve and looking for a long-term business relationship will get a fair chance. Beside Art Gallery, Exhibitions and sale of Art & Craft is my target to establish over the time a local photographer network and with my connections to the entertainment industry there could be a very strong outcome. I like to make my colleagues aware of that together we are strong. Sounds this interesting enough to consider to take me in the line of strong women?
